Premium, plans and the free trial

Pick a plan

On the pricing page: $1.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $34.99 once for life. All three are the same Premium, with every update. You pay on Stripe’s secure checkout, your key arrives by email, and you paste it into Settings > Premium.

Signed in to your Theia account on that device? Premium turns on by itself.

The free trial

A first monthly or yearly plan starts with 14 days free. You enter a card to start it, and nothing is charged until the free days end. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. It’s one free trial per person; if you’ve had one, the plan starts the day you buy it, and the pricing page says so before you pay.

Renewals

A plan renews until you cancel. When you’re signed in to a Theia account, your devices pick up each renewal on their own (Theia 0.9.2 and later). A device that has only a key you pasted needs the new key: paste it from the renewal email, or from your account page, in Settings > Premium. Premium keeps working until the old key’s end date. A device that’s offline keeps Premium until its key’s end date too, and a signed-in device catches up the next time it’s online.

Older versions of Theia can’t pick up the new key, even when signed in. Update Theia, or paste the key from the renewal email in Settings > Premium.

Manage a plan

Go to your account page, sign in with the email you bought with, then choose Manage plan to:

• update your card
• switch between monthly and yearly
• see your receipts
• cancel

If a renewal payment doesn’t go through, Premium stays on while we retry for about two weeks in Theia 0.9.2 and later. Older versions stay on until about a week after the period you paid for ends, unless you paste the newest key. Update card on that page fixes it. If the first payment after the free days fails, the plan ends.

Cancel

Cancel plan stops the next payment. Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then the Premium extras lock. Everything free keeps working. Cancel during the free days and you’re never charged.

Want a payment back? Any payment can be refunded within 14 days, a renewal too. A refund ends the plan right away. See the refund policy.

When Premium ends

Nothing is deleted, and playback is never cut off. Sources past the free 2 keep working, you just can’t add more. Multiview goes back to the free preview, recording stops being available and sync stops. Pick a plan again and it all comes back.

A key works everywhere Theia runs, TVs included.

The Microsoft Store version

Lifetime is a Microsoft Store purchase, bought in the app, and it belongs to your Microsoft account. Monthly and yearly are bought on theiaplayer.com: Settings > Premium opens the pricing page in your browser, and the key comes by email.
