These terms apply to the Theia app and the website theiaplayer.com. By installing or using Theia, you agree to them. If you get Theia from the Microsoft Store, the Store’s terms also apply.
1. Theia is a media player
Theia is a media player. It does not provide, host, distribute or index any content, channels or playlists, and it is not affiliated with any content provider or IPTV operator.
To watch anything, you must add your own sources. Theia works with M3U and M3U8 playlists and the Xtream Codes API.
Any purchase unlocks application features only. It does not include, or provide access to, any channels, streams or media content.
2. Your responsibility for what you add
You are responsible for making sure you have the legal right to access any content you add to Theia, and that your use of any routing feature (such as WireGuard or a proxy) is lawful where you live and allowed by your provider. We do not permit the streaming of copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright holder. Copyright complaints can be sent to copyright@theiaplayer.com, as described on the copyright page.
3. License to use Theia
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Theia. The free version may be installed on as many devices as you like. A Premium license unlocks Premium features on three PCs at a time. Removing the license from a PC (Settings > Premium) clears it from that PC, so the key can be used on another.
3a. Your license page
Buying Premium gets you a license key by email and a license page on theiaplayer.com, which you reach with a link sent to your email. It shows your key. Keep access to that email address secure. The free version of Theia never needs an account.
Complimentary licenses may be given at our discretion and can be withdrawn.
4. Premium and license revocation
Premium licenses are verified on your PC. A license may be revoked if it is refunded, charged back, shared publicly or obtained fraudulently. Revocation only turns off Premium features. It never stops Theia from playing your sources.
5. Open-source components
Theia includes open-source software, listed on the third-party notices page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses. In particular, for components licensed under the GNU LGPL, you may modify those components for your own use and reverse engineer Theia to the extent needed to debug such modifications.
6. Things you agree not to do
- Sell, rent or redistribute Theia, or bundle it with channels, playlists or subscriptions.
- Use Theia’s name or logo to suggest we endorse or supply any content service.
- Tamper with licensing to unlock Premium without a valid license.
7. No warranty
Theia is provided “as is”. Streams, guides, schedules and other third-party services come from other people, so we can’t guarantee they will work, be accurate or stay available. We can’t promise Theia will be free of bugs either.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from content or services provided by third parties. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Theia in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.
9. Changes and ending
We may update these terms, and the new version will be posted here with a new date. You can stop using Theia at any time by uninstalling it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], United States, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
