Watch multiple channels at once on Windows

Theia's multiview plays up to 9 live channels at once on one Windows screen, from your own playlist, Xtream login or antenna tuner. Pick a layout, drag the tiles where you want them, and click any tile to hear it.

Start it from anywhere

  • While you watch, click Add a tile for multiview in the player, or right-click the video and choose Add to multiview.
  • In Live TV, right-click a channel and choose Watch in multiview.
  • On a game’s page in Sports, click Watch 2 feeds side by side when the game has more than one feed.

Then click Add a tile for each channel you want. Type a name or number and the picker finds it the way search does, typos and all.

Pick a layout

Theia offers the layouts that fit your tiles. Side by side, 2 by 2, 3 by 2, 4 by 2 and 3 by 3 keep every tile the same size. 1 big, 3 small and 1 big, 5 small give the game that matters most the room. Picture in picture fills the screen with one channel and floats up to three others over it.

Drag a tile onto another to swap them, or drag the line between tiles to resize. In picture in picture, click a small tile to bring it up big, or right-click it and choose Move or resize to pick one of eight spots and Small, Medium or Large. Multiview remembers the layout you made. One tile plays sound at a time, so click the one you want to hear. Double-click a tile to fill the screen while the others keep playing out of sight, and Mini player puts the tile you hear in a small window on top of your other apps.

Pick up where you left off

Leave multiview and Theia keeps your channels, the one you were hearing and your layout. They wait for you in Continue watching on Home, and opening multiview brings them back inside your stream limit. Close all channels in a tile’s menu starts fresh.

Stream limits, honestly

Every tile is one stream from your provider, the same as watching on another device. If your plan allows 2 streams and a TV in another room is using one, only one tile will open. That limit belongs to your account, and your provider enforces it.

Theia keeps count for you. The first time you open multiview, it shows each source’s limit and how many streams are free. For an Xtream login it asks your provider, so streams on your other devices count too. A tile that can’t open says why and offers what helps, such as closing another tile or trying the same channel on another source. Each source has its own limit, so tiles from two sources add up. Set the number yourself under Streams allowed.

Your PC plays up to 9 tiles, or 4 when they decode in software. Small tiles play a lighter copy of a channel when there is one, and go back to the best copy when you make them big. On an antenna tuner, each tuner in the box plays one channel.

Try it free, then go Premium

Without Premium, multiview shows 2 tiles for 30 minutes a day. The clock only runs while more than one tile is open, and it resets at midnight. Premium shows up to 9 tiles with no time limit, and multiview works on Android TV too, with as many tiles as the TV can handle.

Premium is $1.99 a month, $19.99 a year or $34.99 once. Free and Premium

Layouts, keys and what each message means are in the multiview guide.
